What Does an Online Music Mentor Do?

A mentor is an online music coach who helps students develop their performance skills and/or achieve their individual goals in the music industry.

  • Mentors provide a 15-minute free discovery session to all new students
  • Mentors may offer individual instrument classes, group lessons, Masterclasses, chamber music lessons, choir, ensemble, or any other type of lesson.

 

Mentors do NOT: Grade students

Types of Mentors

Mentors can be a professional or a community coach.

Professional Mentor

Must have a minimum of a master's degree in music or equivalent experience and an association with an institution of higher learning.

Community Mentor

Must have a bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent experience. Equivalency is individually evaluated by the C4E team through evidence of significant teaching and/or performance experience.
